In this course you will be shown the principles of preparing and shaping your clay. You will have the opportunity to make a cylinder, an open form and a closed form and develop your skills in scale and alterations such as collaring. You will be shown how to glaze your pieces on the final week.
4 Persons maximum.
Weekly Schedule -
We will have a coffee break around 11:30-11:45am and lunch at 1-1:30pm each full day, there are lots of local cafes in the area to pop out to get a break from the busy studio sessions.
Tuesday 10-3pm
Throwing and Wedging Demonstration from Tutor
Followed by Wedging and Cylinder Making for the day
Wednesday 10-3pm
Throwing Demonstration from Tutor
Followed by Bowl Making in the morning and Closed Forms in the afternoon
Thursday 10-3pm
Trimming demonstration from Tutor
Trimming Day and Lunch Provided by Studios
(Any allergies, please get in touch a week in advance of workshop)
Friday 10-3pm
Making day and practicing skills from the week
These pieces can be kept at an additional cost as they will not be ready for bisque and glazing in this week. Alternatively you can make and recycle all materials on this day.
